Description
Duties Oversee the administration and monitoring of research funding programs, grant/award applications and research initiatives, ensuring alignment with funding/award agency requirements and University policies, as well as providing information for strategic planning and decision-making processes; Develop and implement initiatives that promote research engagement and visibility within the University and the broader community; Collaborate, cultivate and maintain relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty members, government agencies, industry partners, and funding organisations, to identify funding opportunities and enhance collaborative research efforts; Provide leadership and guidance to staff to ensure effective delivery of service; Provide secretarial and logistical support to committees and working groups; Handle ad hoc assignments and tasks delegated by the Director and/ or the Office of the Vice-President (Research); and Perform any other duties as assigned. Requirements A Bachelor’s degree plus professional/postgraduate qualification with at least 15 years’ relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in university research administration; Proven team leadership experience, including staff supervision, mentoring, and fostering collaboration; Exceptional organisational, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement abilities, with demonstrated adaptability in dynamic environments and strategic thinking ability; and Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test. Salary and Conditions of Service Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
